Description
The Large Area Search System is built for rescue crews who need reliability, durability, and clear orientation in low-visibility, high-heat environments. Designed with firefighter search operations in mind, this system combines a rugged search line bag with high-performance Kevlar rope to support structured, efficient large-area searches.
Heavy-Duty Search Line Bag
The Chicago-style search line bag is constructed from 1000 denier nylon, with a poly-coated nylon bottom to resist abrasion, cuts, and tears encountered in demanding rescue conditions. All seams are triple sewn using Tex 138 nylon thread for long-term durability.
Reflective trim improves visibility, while the breakaway adjustable shoulder strap allows for safer movement in confined or entanglement-prone environments. A large rear pocket with two integrated tool pockets provides convenient storage for hand tools or webbing used to build a jiffy harness.
High-Heat Primary Search Line
The primary search line is 9.5mm Kevlar over poly rope, engineered for extreme conditions. With an 860°F heat rating and 5,500 lb tensile strength, it delivers dependable performance when it matters most. Optional markers and rings help rescuers maintain orientation, track distance, and confirm direction during extended searches.
Personal Search Line Options
Personal search lines are available to complement the main system and support individual rescuer movement. Options include:
- 6mm Kevlar over poly rope, or
- 7/16″ 100% Kevlar tubular webbing
Standard length is 25 feet, with custom lengths available to meet department or operational requirements.
Built for Organized Search Operations
From large-area sweeps to structured team searches, this system is designed to support accountability, orientation, and durability in challenging rescue environments. It is a dependable solution for crews who cannot afford equipment failure during critical search operations.
