Description
The D5 Auto Lock Descender with Panic Brake is designed for professional rescue, work-at-height, tower climbing and belay applications where controlled rope handling is critical. Built for use with 12.5 mm to 13 mm rope, the D5 provides dependable descent control for both individual users and two-person rescue loads.
The D5 is a double-stop descender with an auto-lock function that activates when the operator releases the handle. It also includes a panic brake that helps stop descent if the handle is pulled too far, while still allowing smooth operation during normal use.
A double safety locking mechanism helps prevent accidental opening while the device is loaded. When connected with the karabiner and secured by the push-button click-lock closure, the side plates cannot be rotated open during use.
The D5 can be attached to or removed from the rope without detaching the device from the operator’s harness. This helps reduce the risk of accidentally dropping the descender while setting up, changing systems or transitioning during rescue operations.
The ISC D5 can also be used for smooth ascending or emergency hauling when used as part of a 2:1 Z-rig system. With a working load limit of 529 lb, it is well suited for rescue teams, tower climbers, rope access professionals and work-at-height crews that need a compact, high-performance descender.
